Planter’s punch originated from a rum punch that was drunk by plantation owners or “planter’s” in the Caribbean. Planter’s punch grew to be a prolific drink in the Caribbean, and it is seen on almost any menu on the islands. This recipe is Joe’s favorite version of the Planter’s Punch, and many variations of this punch exist. Planter’s Punch is characterized by that it follows the rhyming formula, one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, and two of weak.
This drink is one of my favorites, and I hope that you enjoy it as well!
2 oz Jamaican Rum
1oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Allspice dram
1/2 oz Cinnamon syrup
2 dashes Angostura syrup
Combine, stir with ice, and serve.
For a slushie twist, you can also combine all ingredients in a blender and serve over ice.
